Frequently Asked Questions

01 Is the estimate the same as my real Meralco bill?
It's an estimate — but a serious one. KuryenteMoo models the same charge components as a real residential Meralco bill (generation, transmission, system loss, distribution, taxes, subsidies, refunds), and its engine reproduces an actual bill to the centavo when given the same rates. Your official bill can still differ because of rate changes, adjustments, and billing-period corrections — which is why every estimate is clearly labeled as an estimate.
02 Where does my data go?
Nowhere, by default. Readings, meter photos, bills, budgets — everything lives only on your phone. There's no account and no sign-up. Two optional Pro features (AI analysis and Enhanced Scan) send limited data to our servers only after you explicitly turn them on, and the privacy policy spells out exactly what they send.
03 Does it need internet?
No. Scanning, estimates, charts, budgets, and appliance insights all work completely offline — the meter reading happens on your phone's own processor. Internet is only used for the optional AI features if you enable them.
04 What if I'm not a Meralco customer?
The detailed itemized breakdown is built around Meralco's residential billing structure, but everything else — scanning, consumption tracking, budgets, appliance insights, and the simplified rate-per-kWh estimate — works with any electric provider. Support for electric cooperatives' detailed rates is on the roadmap.
05 What do beta testers actually do?
Install the app through a Google Play invite link, stay opted-in for at least 14 days (a Google requirement for new apps), use it like a normal user — scan your meter, poke around — and tell us what's confusing or broken. That's it. In exchange you get Pro free for the whole beta and founding tester's bragging rights.
06 When can everyone else download it?
After the closed beta finishes and Google approves the public release — realistically a few weeks after the beta starts. Join the beta now and you won't have to wait; otherwise check back here for the Google Play download button at launch.
